For Musicians

Musicians for Musicians (MFM) is a grassroots initiative founded by working musicians. While the Malaysian music scene is small, the struggles every musician faces are great. MFM was founded with a mission: Protect and Empower Musicians.

Built by musicians, for musicians, MFM exists to fill a long-standing gap in representation, welfare and advocacy for creative individuals who make up the soul of our nation’s cultural landscape.

Music is not just merely entertainment. For many, music is how we remember our most cherished memories, it is a source of inspiration and an avenue to express what it means to be human. For musicians, music is not just art, it is a livelihood, the dedicated few who spread the joy of music deserve to have their work appreciated and should be afforded the same rights and protections we all have.

Advocacy and Policy Reform

Our mission is to ensure all musicians are not left behind. Unfortunately, it is very easy to forget that musicians are not afforded the same worker protections and rights we all enjoy. MFM is dedicated to pushing for comprehensive policy reform with the sole purpose of improving the livelihood of musicians. MFM routinely engages with government bodies, industry stakeholders, and other organizations within the music scene to represent the needs and concerns of musicians.

Welfare and Emergency Relief

Musicians often face unpredictable income streams, lack of access to health coverage and minimal safety nets. MFM provides short-term emergency assistance, wellness resources, and long-term planning tools to help music professionals navigate uncertainty with dignity and support.

Events and Community Building

MFM routinely holds events of various sizes to help raise funds for those who need it the most, but also to expose music to our cultural landscape. Our events allow music fans to enjoy musical talent from across all of Malaysia while giving our members the opportunity to be featured and gain exposure.

You don't have to be a musician to make a difference. Sometimes, all you have to do is show up and have a good time at music events. If you can afford it, you may donate directly to our emergency support funds that MFM raises for sick performers. We’ll help connect you to musicians and music events, just give us a call or leave us a message to find out more!

Together, we can help protect the people behind the music.
